Category: HISTORICAL COLLECTION GREAT WAR

The Great War ushered in the era of steel elephants, which continues to this day. It was then that the design of one of the first tanks was born: MARK I (Male) number C.19. You can build the prototype of all future tanks with 878 COBI construction blocks. The model measures 28 cm in length and thanks to the use of the 1:35 modeling scale, the model fits COBI figures and other vehicles released in this size. The tank is equipped with working tracks, rotating cannons and opening flaps. Markings and emblems are made of colorful blocks and durable prints that do not wear off even during intensive use. The set includes a figure of a British tank driver from the Great War period and a plate with the name of the set and the logo of The Tank Museum, which houses the original tank on which we modeled this set.

The British Mark I tank (Male version) was produced in 1916 during the Great War. It was one of the first tanks used in military history. The designation "Male" in the name meant that it was a variant of the tank equipped with a combination of cannons located in turrets on the sides of the vehicle and machine guns. The "Female" versions of this type of tank were equipped with multiple machine guns only.

The vehicle was powered by a gasoline engine that allowed it to travel at speeds up to 4 miles per hour. It was slow and bulky, but its armor provided some protection against enemy infantry small arms. The Mark I (Male) no C.19. tank was first used in combat in 1916 at the Battle of the Somme during World War I.

Its main goal was to break through enemy fortifications, destroy barbed wire and support the infantry in capturing positions. Although it was not a perfect combat vehicle, its presence on the battlefield played an important role in the evolution of war strategy. The Mark I tank is a must-have for history and armor enthusiasts and a beautiful model for a collection dedicated to the Great War. Build history, piece by piece, with COBI.

Matthew B. ★★★★★

Finally got this built and the historical accuracy of the Mark I's shape really stands out, especially the male tank's side sponsons. The brick quality is solid and the tracks move smoothly once assembled, which makes it a fun display piece.

Sebastian V. ★★★★★

The track links are nicely detailed and click together securely, making the build feel more authentic than other brick sets I've tried. Really captures the look of the first steel elephants.

Avery B. ★★★★★

I’ve always been fascinated by WWI armor, and this set captures the Mark I’s boxy silhouette perfectly. The track assembly was surprisingly smooth to link together, and the finished model looks great on my shelf.
