"Friedrich," which changed everything

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the main fighter of the German Luftwaffe during World War II and one of the most recognizable aircraft designs in history. The Bf 109F "Friedrich" version, introduced into production at the turn of 1940/1941, represented a true breakthrough in the development of this aircraft.

Although it used the same DB 601E engine as the earlier E version, the airframe was thoroughly redesigned. The rounded engine cowling, new propeller spinner and modified, rounded wingtips significantly improved aerodynamics. The result? A maximum speed of up to 635 km/h at an altitude of 6000 m and excellent handling characteristics. The armament, consisting of two MG 17 machine guns and a 20 mm MG 151 cannon, made the "Friedrich" a formidable opponent in aerial dogfights.

Key features of the Messerschmitt Bf 109F set:

• Realistic yet compact 1:48 scale – faithfully reproduced proportions and the characteristic silhouette of the legendary World War II fighter.

• 123 elements – a set that provides great building satisfaction and is perfect as part of a larger collection of aircraft models from COBI. The compact size makes planes in this scale very practical for collecting – many will fit on a shelf.

• Painting with the "Green Heart" symbol – the emblem of the Jagdgeschwader 54 "Grünherz" unit, one of the most famous symbols of fighter units.

• Movable elements – detachable wheels with rubber tires, a movable propeller and ailerons increase the realism when displaying the model and its attractiveness during play.

• High-quality prints – durable markings made without the use of stickers, resistant to abrasion and looking great on the model. Thanks to them, the model will look "like new" even after years.

• Simple and clear instructions – guides you step by step through the building process, regardless of the level of experience or age of the brick builder.

• Age: 6+ – a set suitable for both younger builders and adult history and model-making enthusiasts.

• Model for play and display – once assembled, the Messerschmitt Bf 109F becomes an impressive part of a collection or a stylish decoration for a shelf or display case.

• Expand your collection – check out other COBI sets and build your own collection of historical models. The 1:48 scale models offer a completely new perspective on war modeling and perfectly complement the 1:35 scale series.

Evelyn ★★★★★

The printed tiles for the instrument panel and cockpit markings are crisp and perfectly scaled, really bringing this Green Heart scheme to life. Assembly took me about an hour and a half, and the finished model sits solidly on its display stand without any wobble.

Andrew ★★★★★

The brick detailing on the wings and fuselage really captures the historical look, and the printed pilot figure adds a nice touch. Took me about an hour to build, and everything clicked together perfectly.

Grace O. ★★★★★

I was pleasantly surprised by how sturdy the finished model feels—the brick connections are much tighter than on other building sets I've used. The dark yellow and green color scheme really pops once assembled, and the propeller actually spins smoothly.
